WAITING FAMILIES

Meet Some of Our Waiting Families

Adam & Erin [Married Since 2006]

Reasons for Wanting to Adopt:

We have been trying to have a child since 2011 but God has not chosen to bless us with a biological one. Erin has been comfortable with this and has felt led to adoption for a few of years. Earlier in 2015, Adam began to feel the call toward adoption too. We have a lot of love to give and look forward to cuddling our new baby, watching him or her grow and passing on the knowledge & wisdom God has given us.

Family Activities:

We enjoy watching British murder mysteries, regularly attending church, spending time with family and friends, going to movies, attending live music performances at coffeehouses and visiting museums. Each year we attend the largest Celtic festival in the US. We also travel to the mountains in NY once or twice a year to vacation with our family & friends. We enjoy playing with our 6 nieces and nephews.

David & Keller [Married Since 2007]

Reasons for Wanting to Adopt:

God has been guiding us in our decision to adopt for many years. Adoption has always been something we were passionate about, but in 2011 we began volunteering with a local adoption agency and this experience changed our lives. We felt God telling us it was something we needed to pursue, and we were personally able to see a beautiful picture of how God adopts us into His family. We desire to demonstrate His love by welcoming a child into our family.

Family Activities:

We love spending time with our family and are blessed to live in the same town as both of our parents and most of our family. Our church is also important to us, and we are very active and have many great friends there. We are very musical and enjoy playing instruments and singing. We love to travel especially to the beach. We also enjoy being outdoors, playing and watching sports and being active.

John & Ashley [Married Since 2009]

Reasons for Wanting to Adopt:

Over the past few years, God has not just given us the desire to become parents, but He has made it unmistakably clear that He wants this desire to be fulfilled through adoption! Our hearts truly are overflowing with joy and excitement in anticipation of welcoming a child into our family, but more than that we are humbled to be able to experience and display the Gospel of adoption in such a tangible way. Just as God has chosen and loved us, became our eternal Father, and given us the gift of a new family and identity through Jesus, we desire to do the same. We have joyfully chosen adoption, and our hearts already love our child deeply, though we do not know them yet. Our name will be their name, our family will be their family, our home will be their home and we couldn’t be more excited.

Family Activities:

We love spending time with family and friends, which most often translates to big dinners and sitting around a table for hours talking! We love being outside – walking, hiking, riding bikes, picnics, throwing the football, laying on a blanket reading – if it’s nice, you can expect to find us outside, enjoying it! We love to travel, visiting new places we’ve never been before. We love music – listening to it and going to concerts! We love to read. We love movies! John loves Clemson football, hunting and history & Ashley loves cooking, fashion and home decorating. We’re both deeply passionate about ministry, and are extremely active in our church.

Peter & Lia [Married Since 2009]

Reasons for Wanting to Adopt:

Adoption is close to our hearts. Both of us have always wanted a large family and had discussed adoption before we were married. Our plan was to conceive and to adopt, but God had other plans. We have family members on both sides who joined our families through adoption, and our five precious children came to us through the gift of adoption. We believe that our family is not yet complete, and we look forward to welcoming our newest child.

Family Activities:

As a homeschooling family, we have the flexibility to enjoy each other and to pursue the things that interest us. Peter’s job is family friendly, and he generally is able to be home every other Friday. Lia and the children belong to a homeschool community that meets weekly. Our children take gymnastics and play seasonal sports. Family activities include: music (we all play or are learning to play instruments), hiking, biking, camping, playing indoor games, swimming, walking downtown, traveling, church events, family dinners, homeschooling in community with other families, reading, learning, yard work, playing with our dogs, etc. We also enjoy field trips to the aquarium, the zoo, and various museums and local attractions. We do life together!
